What is SBI Doorstep Banking (DSB) Services?
SBI DSB Services is a facility provided by SBI to its customers at their doorstep. This service is available at select branches. The services offered under DSB include:
Pickup Services:
- Cash pickup
- Cheque pickup
- Cheque requisition Slip pickup
- Form 15H pickup
- KYC documents pickup
Delivery Services:
- Cash delivery
- Delivery of Drafts
- Delivery of Term Deposit Advice
- Life Certificate Pickup
Users can access DSB services through a Mobile App, Web Portal, and Call Centre. These services are available to all individual customers with some exceptions. The services registered up to 3 PM on any working day have to be completed within 3 hours of the request. Services booked after 3 PM shall be completed by 1 PM of the next working day.
These services are provided to customers on a chargeable basis, with the present rates being Rs 75/- + GST per call/service. However, the Doorstep Banking Facility is free of cost up to 3 transactions per month for Divyangjans.
Eligibility for SBI Doorstep Banking
The eligibility criteria for availing SBI DSB Services are as follows:
- Older citizens of more than 70 years of age and Persons with a disability or infirm Persons (Having medically certified chronic illness or disability) including those who are visually impaired.
- Fully KYC compliant account holders.
- Valid Mobile Number should be registered with the account.
- Single account holders and Joint Account Holders with Either or Survivor/ Former or Survivor.
Please note that the service is not available for accounts operated jointly, minor accounts, accounts of non-personal nature, and customers having registered address within a radius of 5 KMs from the Home Branch.
Registration for SBI Doorstep Banking
Customers can register for SBI DSB Services by calling the SBI toll-free number, visiting their local branch, or using the SBI Yono App or the Doorstep Banking App. The service request can be processed only at the home branch. The mobile number should be registered with the account in order to use this facility. The facility is available only within a 5 km distance from the home branch.
Exceptional Cases and Complaints
In exceptional cases, where the customer is under medical treatment in any hospital, service may be provided as needed. In such cases, obtain the signature of two witnesses, with one of them being permanent staff at the hospital.
The customer can register his complaint regarding Doorstep Banking Services through the Toll-Free Number provided for service request or through the Home Branch.
Charges for SBI Doorstep Banking
Applicable charges for non-financial transactions are Rs 60/-+GST per request and for financial transactions are Rs. 100/- +GST. If the branch cannot recover charges due to insufficient balance, they will put a hold on the account. Further services will be provided only after recovery of pending charges.
If at the appointed time, the Bank Official/Agent reaches the registered address but is unable to deliver the services for reasons attributable to the Customer, the applicable charges would be payable by the customer. If the service remains undelivered due to technical failure or for reasons attributable to the Bank Official/Agent, no charges would be recovered.
Liability and Responsibility
The Door-step services should be seen only as an extension to regular banking services offered by SBI. Hence the liability of the Bank remains to the same extent as if the transactions were conducted at the Branch.
